Whitemountain HGV Driver Handbook Seminar

Date_ 22 August 2016

The Mineral Products Association recently launched a comprehensive Drivers Handbook aimed at making LGV drivers and operators fully aware of the risks that they may face or create while driving, and understand how to manage those risks. This excellent document has been adopted by Whitemountain and the content made bespoke to the Whitemountain LGV driver fleet. The key topics within the handbook include a “Code of Conduct” for drivers; a section on driver safety and behaviour; a section on vehicle standards and safety features; and a detailed look at driver safety in relation to site operations. The Drivers Handbook was recently rolled out to 15 Company and Owner Drivers who operate within our Temple and Ballystockart Quarries. The seminar was delivered by our HSEQ Manager and Area Quarry Manager.  The rollout of the handbook will be extended to all other company LGV drivers and external hauliers.
