Groundworks at Lockerbie Academy
Whitemountain has recently completed a Groundworks sub-contract package at Lockerbie Academy in Scotland for H&J Martin Ltd.
The main contract is for the construction of both a primary and secondary school under a PFI Design and Build scheme.
The two new schools will be co-located on the green field site adjacent to, and to the North of the current Lockerbie Academy. The total site area is approximately 12.106 hectares.
Works carried out by Whitemountain Quarries Ltd. involved the groundworks, underground services, reinforced foundations and floor slabs, substructure blockwork and external surfacing.
Principal quantities included 47,000 m3 of bulk excavation, 17,000 m3 of imported stone, 2,270 m of drainage and 3,100 m2 of formwork shuttering.
